Beach Yoga – Jen’s wax poetic

September 12th, 2007

Wow.

I doubt that words can express the extreme beauty and wondrous gifts of nature we had tonight practicing Yoga on the beach. Let me try anyway.

We explored a handful of asana in depth, with variations and long holds and yes, we could have had that experience anywhere because our practice is what we bring to the mat but the sukha, or sweetness, that nature shared with us was absolutely priceless.

The sky changed, softened and morphed into dozens of colors. There was a spectacular contrast of textures in the sand, glassy waters, trees and hills across the sound. We filled our lungs with fresh air, and drank in all that beauty.

A student remarked after class, “I hope that you were also able to enjoy it as we did.”

Does that really need further answer?

Witnessing their practice and energy transform along with the sky, I was gifted double.

Thank you lovely Yogin who came out tonight. Thank you nature.

Om shantih, shantih, shantih.
